Orbituary, New York Times 23.01.1891: Col. George Lea Febiger, retired Assistant Paymaster General af othe United States Army, died last evening at his home in New Have, Conn., of hear failure. Col. Febiger was born in Philadelphia in 1822 and was educated at William and Mary College. He entered the army in 1861 and remained in the Paymaster's Department until 1886, when he was retied. He was a memeber of the Knights Templar and Loyal Legion. He leaves a wife, one son, and two daughters.
